Decals are literally “stickers” that you paste onto your model that look like real detail.
You cannot physically tell the difference between a decal and geometry that is physically modeled in.
The reason for this is that decals use something called “parallax mapping” which gives the illusion of 3-dimensional depth.
Most decals you find online look blank and 2-dimensional, with no depth to them.
Our decals look realistic, and it is physically impossible to tell the difference.
Check out the images below:
The object on the left is manually modeled detail.
The object on the right is a decal.
Since we had to model the left object manually, it takes a lot longer versus pasting a decal (which takes 2 seconds)
This is why decals are so powerful.
WHAT ARE TRIM SHEETS?
Trim sheets are similar to decals, except you can think of these as “textured tape”.
Imagine you take a clear, transparent piece of tape in real life and draw some details on it.
Then you wrap the tape around an object.
That’s essentially what trim sheets are doing.
The way we do this in Blender is via “UV Unwrapping”
You select a strip of quads, unwrap them, then the detail is “embedded” into your 3D model.
The way trim sheets work is that we have a square image which we position our UVs over, then that detail will appear over the 3D model.
Confused? Let me show you:
All we did in that video above is took a strip of quads, unwrapped them, positioned the UVs over the trim sheet, and the detail appeared.
No modeling required. No extra geometry. It’s literally the same exact object, but with a texture on it.
Just like decals, trim sheets give the illusion of depth, so you cannot physically tell the difference between a trim sheet and real geometry.
TAKE A LOOK AT THE TWO IMAGES BELOW:
The image on the left uses real, modeled-in detail, which took about 2 hours to model.
The image on the right uses a trim sheet, which took 2 seconds to apply.
That is 3,600x faster than actual modeling. 360,000% faster.
What is all that time saved worth to you?
The reason the left design took such a long time is because we had to model in all those tiny lines. Tiny holes. Tiny details. It takes a while.
Tell me – would you rather spend hours modeling in tiny detail, or click a button and have it done in seconds?
Again, you cannot physically tell a difference.
TYPES OF TRIM SHEETS?
There are two types of trim sheets: textured & non-textured.
have an actual texture applied to them. See below:

do not have any textures applied to them. See below:

HOW ARE DECAL & TRIM SHEETS BUILT?
First of all, I don’t recommend creating your own decals or trim sheets.
It’s a time consuming process, requires a beefy PC for baking, and generally isn’t worth your time.
For context: even with an RTX 4090 GPU, each decal still took several minutes to bake at the highest resolution. That is lots of hours of baking required – with the best GPU on the market.
That’s why this pack exists – there isn’t anything like this out there for Blender.
You don’t need to bake. You don’t need a beefy PC. You skip all of that since we’ve done that heavy lifting for you with this pack.
With decals, it requires a lot of technical knowledge of how baking and decals work.
With trim sheets, you must model in real 3D detail into a square plane, which takes a lot of time as well. And there are a bunch of technical requirements I won’t even get into.
Bottom line: do NOT design your own trims or decals.

It’s a complete waste of time.
You’ll spend more time creating these for yourself than just purchasing this pack to begin with.
For context, the 20 trim sheets designed in this pack took us a couple hundred hours and about 2 years to create.
That’s because we focused on practical, usable detail.
We also wanted to focus on clean, visually-appealing detail that can be universally used in any project.
These decals and trims are generic enough that nobody will be able to tell they are reused from this pack.

If you really want to know how to create your own, you’ll have the ability to purchase two custom tutorials on this for an additional $37.
Just click the check box for it on the checkout page.
WE’VE PROVIDED A VARIETY OF IMAGERY BELOW SHOWING HOW THESE DECALS AND TRIM SHEETS LOOK IN USE.

BONUSES
For a limited-time only, we are including an additional bonus bundle of 400+ high quality unique decals.
This pack includes 240+ Japanese-inspired info decals based on signs and stickers from the streets of Tokyo, 80 sci-fi floor panels and other packs including vents, hatches, bolts and other details.
Japanese info decals are really special. Ryuu lives in Tokyo and created these manually from 3000+ reference images taken on the streets of Tokyo.
No one else is insane enough to put so much time and effort into a decal pack. This project took several months of work, and the best part is that all 240+ of those decals come with English tool-tip translations.
